Coppertone ClearlySheer Review

Going on vacation to somewhere warm and sunny? Will you be needing a sunscreen while your there? Most likely, you will. If you're going to the beach (like my family this year) or if your going to be anywhere outdoors for several hours, then your going to need a sunscreen.

An important thing to know about sunscreens, that they are products combining several ingredients that help prevent the suns UV radiations from reaching the skin. Damage to the skin can increase your risk of cancer; sunscreen vary in their ability to protect again UVA and UVB (these are two types of ultraviolet radiation).

What exactly is SPF? Well its Sun Protection Factor, that is the measure of a sunscreens ability to prevent UVB from damaging your skin. Most sunscreens with an SPF of 15 or higher do an excellent job of protecting against UVB.

Wondering why I'm giving you all these facts, well I was recently sent several bottles of a new sunscreen line from Coppertone Clearly Sheer, complimentary along with coupons from BzzAgent to test out and give you guys my thoughts.  I received one large bottle of the 30 SPF, and 3 mini travel sized bottles (1FL OZ) and two of the spray can of the 50 SPF (1.6 OZ) Click here for my original post of when I received them.

My thoughts:

  • I'm usually not the biggest fan of high count SPF sunscreens mainly because of the smell, but this has a nice beachy scent. You can still smell the SPF a little, but it isn't over whelming like many sunscreens can be.
  • I love how fast this absorbs into the skin, even the lotion sinks into my skin very quickly and I'm left with a light clean feeling; nothing heavy or greasy.
  • The title "ClearlySheer" kind of gives it away, but this sunscreen is great for all skin types, so it won't clogs the pores or cause break outs! Which is awesome if you like to wear sunscreen underneath your makeup or just for every day use, not just at the pool.
  • The bottles state that they are water resistant for up to 80 minutes, this is something that I didn't get to test out. I always suggest reapply if you are outdoors every hour, especially if you tend to burn easily.
Overall, I think this is a great new sunscreen line. I think I'm most excited about the new scent and that they won't clog the pores. I'm not sure what ranges of SPFs are currently available, but I hope they will make a tanning line just like these. I would love to try these out too.

Where are you guys going this summer? Make sure you pack sunscreen!

MAC Haul

If anyone knows me, then you know that MAC is my go to for just about anything in the makeup world. So naturally, any excuse I get to go on a little MAC shopping spree makes me one happy girl! My birthday was last month and my parents gave me a MAC gift card (the gift that keeps on giving!) I was waiting to use the gift card for the highly anticipated Kelly Osbourne collection scheduled to be released on June 2, but I was too late and everything I wanted sold out very quickly online, but don't fret; I did somehow manage to snag everything I wanted when it released a week later at Macy's. You can see everything I purchased on my Instagram page here.

Of course, I still found good use of my gift card and found some new beauties and some timeless classics to add to my collection.
Fix+ is a must have in my option! This was a repurchase, my first bottle lasted what seemed like ages. I use this as my daily moisturizer before I go in with my primers and foundation; this helps hydrates my face without giving me that added oil that most lotion based moisturizers do. This is also a must have if you work with pigments or lose eye shadows. Spray this on a stiff shader brush and then go in with your pigment and it gives your eyes a almost wet look, it really makes the pigments stand out. I love this stuff and will continue to repurchase.
Pro-Longwear Concealer  Another repurchase for me, probably my 6th tube to be honest. I can't live without this stuff! It has a technology to prevent creasing under the eyes (this is were I apply it). I wear shade NC20 to brighten up my under eye area; I also use this to highlight in the necessary areas as well. This product doesn't move or crease throughout the day, but I still set it with a powder, just because I'm a oily monster at times and need extra coverage. :)
I had to order some new lippies to added to my very large collection. I'm loving oranges at the moment for summer; and these colors are perfect. Sushi Kiss was part of the limited collection that came out last year I believe called "All about Orange" and they recently made this color, along with a few other permanent to their lipstick line.
Morange; (Amplified Cream) "Loud Month Orange". This color could be very intimidating to most, but I love bold, vibrant colors.
Sushi Kiss; (Satin) Midtonal Coral Cream. I actually can't wear satin formulas on my lips alone, I have to pair them with a gloss or they become patchy looking over time. So I'm loving Sushi Kiss paired with the NXY Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler.
The last few things I purchased were to go in my MAC PRO Palettes. I love these palettes, they are more affordable than a Z-Palette, I suggest you take a look here if you have not checked these out before.

Nylon Eyeshadow; (Frost)Pale gold with a icy shimmer. This is a highly pigments highlight shade, can be used all over the lid or to highlight the brow bone or liner corners of the eyes. Also with a light hand this could be used as a cheek highlight.
Swiss Chocoloate Eyeshadow; (Matte) Mutted reddish brown. This is a staple in the MAC world, if you don't own this get it. great for all skin tones to darken the outer V and blend into the crease for a smokey eye.
Melba Blush; (Matte) Soft Coral-Peach. Since I received this in the mail, I have forgotten about the millions of other blushes that I own. This is the prettiest blush, its great for skin tones fair to medium. I have been loving to highlight with my BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal then go in with Melba, its PERFECTION!!!! Perfect combo for summer.

Double Chocolate (Greek Yogurt) Muffins

Recently, I was lucky enough to score a free 32 oz container of Chobani Greek Yogurt. How you might ask? Well I belong to a wonderful website called BzzAgent; basically you take surveys and based on the responses you give you get matched up to receive free products to try out and review. Its super fun and I have been very luck enough to get some pretty awesome stuff!

Anyway, I'm not much of a yogurt eater and I didn't want this huge tub of Chobani to go to waste, so I was looking on Pinterest and I found some interesting recipes using Greek yogurt. My favorite one I found was Double Chocolate Greek Yogurt Muffins. I have to admit they were delicious and a much healthy option to a dessert. A must try for anyone with a sweet tooth or just looking to try something new!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1/2 Cup unsweetened coco powder
  • 1 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 Egg
  • 6 oz of Greek yogurt (I used Chobani 0% Plain)
  • 1/2 Cup of milk
  • 1/2 unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla
Directions

Preheat oven to 400 Degrees

Grease up a muffin tin and set aside for later.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, coca powder and baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips and set aside.

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together egg, Greek yogurt, milk applesauce and vanilla. Slowly transfer this mixture into the large bowl with the wet ingredients and mix with a spatula until just combined. Do not over-mix, the batter will start to become very thick.

Portion out the batter into the prepared muffin tin. Bake in the oven for 20 mins. (To make sure they are done, insert a toothpick in the center and when it comes out clean, they are done!)

I even got my husband to try these and he loved them! Who would have thought you can enjoy a desert made from yogurt and applesauce? Please let me know if you try out this recipe or if you have some healthy dessert recipes of your own!

Chop It OFF!

I've been struggling with cutting my hair for a while now, but you know it's time for a change when you wear your hair in a pony almost daily.
My inspiration for the cut was this picture I randomly found on Pinterest and now I'm obsessed with this girl! Go follow Jessica  on Instagram if you love beauty/hair as much as I do!
I kept it safe by going shoulder length & by doing so I was able to keep my ombre. I think the cut came out very similar to the picture, now its all about how I style it.

I think this cut will be so easy to style for summer; the best part is it can be worn so many different ways! I'm sad to see my long hair go, but happy about cutting my blow dry and style time in half!

Two Years & Counting

Two years ago today, I walked down the aisle to my husband! I can't believe it's already been two years; where does the time go?!
I look back on my life before I met Nathan and wonder how I ever could have lived without him. He's everything I could have imagined and wanted in a husband/best friend. Not a day goes by that he doesn't make me laugh or kiss me goodnight; those little things mean the most!
I have to admit, I have been blessed with a life that in my eyes is perfect! I have loving parents, who have always supported me. Wonderful family and friends, a great job that I enjoy coming to everyday. And now I have that fairy tale husband that I have always wanted. Someone who cherishes me and tells me he loves me everyday! He may have not rode in on a white horse, wearing a suit of armor, but he rode in on a Pontiac Aztek wearing gym shorts and concert tee and stole my heart from the moment we met!
I'm so lucky to call him my husband. I look forward to the next 100 years of our life together and I'm so excited to see what our future holds for us.
