Update

I have been MIA lately, I know, but I wanted to just post things quickly to kinda get back in the swing of things and let everyone know whats been going on. Nathan and I are currently in the process of purchasing our 1st home! We are thrilled! Its a cozy 4 bedroom, 2 bath with lots of open space. We haven't closed yet, so I won't post pictures until we officially have the keys.
Since we officially started looking, I have been on Pinterest non-stop for decorating ideas and anything that may tickle my fancy. so, I wanted to share some ideas I found  that I plan on trying out once we move in.

Homemade bath rugs using old towels... great idea! Have also seen this with t-shirt scraps
Found on finecraftguild.com
I think this is a great way to reuse old, not so nice looking towels and reuse them for something new. This seems like a pretty simple, no brainer D.I.Y, so I'll probably try this one first. I was thinking about buying inexpensive towels from Walmart that way I could make a rug in the color I wanted.

No Sew Pillow Case – DIY
Found on alldaychic.comI have no idea how to use a sewing machine so this is perfect for me. Everyone always has tons of old decorative pillows laying around that no longer match anything, so an easy solution is to purchase fabric and wrap the pillow and it basically brand new!

Just crates. You can buy em at Joann's for 9 and stain or paint. Smart.
Found on retropolitanhip.blogspot.com
This would be for my husband, Nathan. He plans on using one of the extra bedrooms as an office or what he would probably like to call his "game room". If  you know anything about Nathan its that he has a passion for music! He has such a large and still ever growing collection of Cd's and vinyls and I thought this would be the perfect solution to display everything.

Make this dollar store mirror for under $10
Found on dollarstorecrafts.com
I plan to do a larger version of this and put this over top the fireplace. I think this is just too simple not to do!

This is just some of the many, many ideas I have gathered over the past few months about what I would want to do once we move. I'm so excited to share our new home with everyone! And if anyone has any great ideas for fun (and easyish) D.I.Y's let me know. I'm always looking to decorate on a budget.

Allure Sample Society-- October 2014 Review

Sample Society is a monthly subscription service from Beautybar.com & Allure. It usually caters more towards beauty related products from higher end brands (this box didn't live up to that!) The samples are also usually deluxe to full sized.

I do have to say, I love the packaging. I have been able to reuse this box every month for something!
The Cost: $15/month (You will also receive $10 off %50 towards Beautybar.com
You will also receive a "mini mag" detailing the products and why they were chosen from the box. I think this is a great idea!

Ships: to US via USP

Emi-Jay Hair Ties--Value $6
Never used this type of hair tie before, so I'm not too thrilled about this in the box, but I'll give them a try!

I think, I may end up buying the full size of this mascara. Its wonderful, lengthens and gives lots of volume to my lashes. I  think its one of the better mascaras I've used in a long time.
I haven't tried the serum, yet but I was very excited to get this in my box. Although, I was a little bummed when I realized how small it was.
These last two things made the box a little disappointing, especially the shampoo & conditioner only because this box has been known from higher end products.

Weekend Lookbook

This past weekend was filled with quick wore-robe changes! Between work, weddings, movie dates and NFL games, this weekend was nothing but go, go, go!
Here's a quick look at what I wore and pictures from the weekend!
Friday's look day/night
Bleed Blue Jumpsuit from Bluetique
Movie Date Look
Blazer (found at Goodwill) paired with a Foo Fighters tee
and grey skinny jean/leggings from Beadsbee Boutique on Jane
Saturday's Look
Perfect wedding attire & UK dress from Bluetique
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of my outfit for the game, but you get the idea; skinny's & my favorite NFL players jersey on my back, Pat McAfee from the Colts!

How was your weekend!

Emerald Boho

Finally tore the tags off this dress today! I've been debating on keeping it because when I originally purchased it from Bluetique (my favorite store on the planet)  months ago during one of their huge sales I realized it was too big and couldn't be returned. Needless to say I never pass up a great fashion deal!
So last night, deciding what to wear for today I decided to through care to wind and rip the tags off and wear it!

I know this is supposed a more fitted dress, but I actually like how flowy and lose it is!  It gives it that carefree, boho vibe. Although, that's not really my style, so I decided to dress it up just a tab with a dressy tank and black flats for work; gold jewelry to set everything off.

I think anyone could pull this look off with a oversize dress that's similar and if the boho feel is for you, then pair with a flower head band and you're good to go!

Allure- Sample Society September Review

Sample Society is a monthly subscription service featured by Allure & Beautybar.com. I really enjoy this box because all the sample are higher end & have all been deluxe to full sized sample! My favorite box by far!

Cost: $15/month
Whats in the box: 4-5 Deluxe to full size samples
Ships to: US
*Every month you will receive $10 off a $50 purchase to use at Beautybar.com as well!

Every box comes with a mini-mag featuring each item. I really love that this box because it comes with this min-mag detailing each item; price, description and why it was picked!

Restorsea Revitalizing  Eye Cream-- Full size Value $85
Eye creams are the best to receive, they are usually super expensive & I hate purchasing them on my own, so I was thrilled to receive this beauty in my box!

I don't think I'll use these, I would be afraid they would turn my face a weird color with my foundation. It's a neat idea though.
Not a scent for me, I'm not a fan of getting perfume samples anyway.

I love pore anything, so this will be used for sure!
Never used this brand before, but I'm excited to try it out. I love getting hair product samples!

My thoughts: I'm happy with the value of this box, over $100 worth of products! I love almost everything in it, I'll get great use out of the primer, re-texturizing cream & eye cream!

Allure Fall 2014 Beauty Box Review

Allure releases a huge beauty box about 3 times per year with must have products for the season! This box is $44.95 with $10 shipping, but you receive over $250 worth of products. Its worth the value for sure, if you can grab your hands on one, usually they sell out within seconds. I missed out on the summer box, but I was lucky enough to snag a fall box.
Here's everything that came in my box.
I received everything pictured; the only variation was the nail polish color.

I love this box, I actually use several things in this box already, so this was a great stock up for me! Some things I'm really excited to try out as well!
Hopefully, you were lucky enough to get your hands on one too!
Can't wait until the next big beauty box.

Fabulous Fashions for Fall 2014

Fall is just around the corner! I can't believe it actually, where has this year gone?!
Anyway, I've picked out some of my favorite fashion trends popping up for this Fall.

Walk Like a Lady
If you're familiar with me personally, then you know how much I love the midi trend. It's so lady like. Great for any body type and its great to transition into the coming fall/winter.
ASOS Pleated Midi
Pastels
Who says Pastels have to be a color for only spring & summer! That is a thing of the past! Adding touches of pastels to your wardrobe for fall will liven up your whole look and make you feel alive.

Wrap Coats
I'm all for this trend. I love a good warm coat, and the wrap coat speak for its self! True statement piece.

Dresses over Pants
This may not be my favorite fall trend, but I will embrace it come those cold fall days. I think this is a great alternative to wearing leggings!

Leopard
I rock this trend now.
There's just something so sassy about wearing leopard with a bold red lip!
leopard print maxi skirt

Swingin' 60's
I'm loving that the 60's trend is back in full swing! I love everything about the 60's from the music to the fashion. I will embrace this trend with full force! My favorite fall trend by far!

Allure-Sample Society August review

Sample Society is monthly subscription box from beautybar.com and Allure magazine. I've received two boxes so far and both have seem to come with higher end products; I really enjoy this box, because you get deluxe to full sized samples! Plus I love the cute, glossy red box everything comes in.
Every month you'll get a "Mini mag" listing & describing all the products. It will also stated why the Allure editors picked the items for the box! (my favorite part)
Cost: $15/month
Every month you will receive deluxe and full sized beauty samples. Also a $10 off $50 to use at beautybar.com.
Ships to: The US
I love beauty oils! They work so well with my oily skin, which may sound strange, but you can fight oil with oil! Putting oil on your face (at night) helps prevent excess oils from coming through your skin throughout the day.
Ciate Paint Pots in Cha Cha Cha- Mini ($6)
This is a vibrant neon orange, I'm excited to try this out, I've never used this brand before, but I've heard good things! Plus I love neon colors, great for the summer.
Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Peony- 5 ml ($8.40)
I know I already love the Too Faced lipstick, I have the full sized version! It's a great long wearing lipstick with excellent color payoff!
I've never heard of this brand mascara before, but I love mascara, you can never have too many! I love the packing, so different!
I don't use mousse, so this will be give away. But WOW! This is super expensive mousse for the travel size!

My Thoughts: Overall, I'm very happy with everything in the box. I only paid $15 and I received over $50 worth of products to try out. I hope that future boxes continue to be this packed with great products!
