Thrifted Thursday

Happy Thursday!!

I haven't posted a #ThriftedThursday in a while. Being a mom and working full-time, can sometimes over whelms us and there's not much else we have time for; so that pile of laundry will just have to wait, right! ;)

So I'm excited to get back to posting, this by far is my favorite theme to post about! Being the avid thriftier that I am, I love being able to show off head to toe looks that may look expensive, but cost me less than $20!
Since Kentucky is still experiencing warm weather, I wanted to get as much wear out of this perfect throw on tee shirt dress from Banana Republic. It's super comfy and perfect to dress up or down. I added an oversize cardigan that I thrifted a couple years ago and paired it with this gorgeous floral scarf and my favorite thrift find...Tom's Desert Booties, that were brand new with tags!!! I've worn these things to death since I found them.

Outfit Details:
Old Navy Oversized Cardigan $5
Banana Republic Tee Shirt Dress $4
Floral Scarf $1
Tom's Wedge Booties $4
--------------------------
Total: $14!

I've linked very similar options below of my entire look!
Stay strong, the weekend is almost here!

Happy Fall Ya'll

Happy Fall Ya'll!!!

Honestly, I can't believe that we're almost in the month of November! I mean, where is the time going these days?!!
As with most working mommas's out there; life can be super busy, crazy and even a little stressful at times. From working, keeping the house nice and neat,  the kiddos entertained, or even dealing with whatever drama may be lingering around. How do we coup with it all?
For me, its setting the mood to unwind after a long day at the office and once Staley is down for the night. First thing I always do is light a candle (this has been my ride or die for years!). I also love to curl up on the coach and catch up on my shows or read a book; I'm currently reading a bio on Freddie Mercury from Queen, it really interesting so far! Some nights, I don't even make it 15 minutes without passing out for the night. After all sleep is the best medicine and anything pumpkin! ;)

I've linked some of my favorite pumpkins and fall items below.

Goodwill Fashion Show, "The Good Life in Color"

Hello friends, did everyone have a wonderful long, relaxing weekend? It was so nice to have a break from work and get away, but more on that in a later post...

A couple weekends ago, I participated in the first ever Goodwill fashion show, "The Good Life in Color". I really enjoyed putting together outfits, assembled of nothing but my Goodwill finds over the last few years. Plus, it was so much fun to model and show off my own style. I was super nervous though, I basically was speed walking down the runway, especially once I saw the news cameras!
The show was broken down by color; warm, cool and neutral and each model that participated had to come up with their own looks based on that color scheme. Below are the looks I came up with made of entirely Goodwill finds. Each look, including accessories cost me less than $18!

This was a wonderful experience for me. I loved coming outta my shell just a little bit more and doing something I never would have done in the past; even though it was a bit nerve racking, it was a great experience and I'm so glad I was able to participate. I especially loved meeting others who love finding a good bargain and thrifting as much as I do.

6. Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation -- 7. ELF Translucent Powder

It's Thursday again! I'm so ready for the weekend and I'm sure you guys are as well. I've have some exciting posts coming soon; one I'm super excited about is the fashion show I'm participating in this Saturday for Goodwill. Yes, this is wwwwaaaaayyyy out of my comfort zone, but I think it's going to be so much fun to meet others who enjoy hunting through the Goodwill racks to find that next amazing thing to add to their closet, as much as I do. I'll be sure to recap the event within the next few weeks.
Anyway, I wanted to share some of my fav beauty items that I've been using none stop for the last few months. My by far favorite is the Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation; at first I didn't think I was going to like it because I've always had oily skin, but since giving birth to Staley in Feb. my skin has turned more into dry to combo. So this foundation is a miracle worker for me!!! It completely transforms my skin into this glowy, healthy base that lasts the entire work day. It's almost always sold out on Sephora's website, so I linked a more affordable option down below that also gives me the same glorious results.
And I quickly want to shout out ELF for all the amazing products they've been coming out with recently. I've always loved the ELF translucent powder and I still use it daily, but the new concealer sticks are AMAZBALLS! I used the dark shade as a contour/bronzer and it is so much better than any high end cream contour product I've used in the past and the best part is its only $4! :)
I've link all my favorites down below, don't forget to snag a couple and let me know what you think!

*For those that noticed, yes I know I spelled obsessed wrong in my collage, but after I noticed it I was already 2 hrs. in and wasn't starting over!

Thrifted Thursday; White and Black

About two weeks ago, while quickly thumbing through racks at Goodwill on my lunch break, I came across about 5 tops grouped together;  someone had to have donated them especially for me! In the bunch, was this darling white, peter pan collared top; I instantly fell in love. It's definitely something I wouldn't normally pick for myself, but the cute collar and white checkered pattern really spoke to me. After all, that's what Goodwill is all about for me, trying out new things I would have never  bought for myself!

Outfit Details:
Top (GW $4)
Shorts (Bargain Hunt $3)
Flats (Payless $20)
Purse (Kate Spade $198)

Easy Breezy

Every weekend, just like most families, we're constantly on the go so, when it comes to my outfits, I just want to throw something on thats comfy, doesn't take much thought, but still looks put together. I've grabbed for these shorts almost every weekend, thank goodness I have them in several different colors! They're so comfortable and go with just about everything in my closet, especially this popover paisley top from J.Crew; its very light weight and breezy, perfect for the warmer weather we've been having. I paired it with my favorite bag and flip flops to top off the look. BTW, I've had this bag for over 10 years! It was my very first Coach bag my parents bought me.

Have a great week!

Keeping it Causal

As hot as the weather has been lately, Im still a cold natured gal. So whenever we go out I have to grab a cardigan. This by far is my favorite cardigan in my closet; I love everything about it, the color, fit and material. Its that perfect throw on and "get the crap outta the house" cardigan.
This color combo is also one of my favorites, its perfect for summer.
Please excuse the craziness that is my hair; Nathan wanted to walk, what felt like miles and between the wind, heat and me sweating like a man, I lost what style I had to my hair.

Outfit Details
Cardigan (Ralph Lauren $25)
Striped Tank (Bargin Hunt $3)
Shorts (J.Crew $20)
Vintage Earrings (Goodwill $2)
Vintage Dooney & Burke (Goodwill $4)
Keds ($45)

To my sweet Staley

To my sweet Staley,
For the last six months I've fed you, bathed you, held you close, wiped away your tears and watched you grow incredibly too fast. You've been the center of my world everyday for the last 6 months. Time has passed by incredibly too fast; it seems just like yesterday that I held you for the first at the hospital to today, where now you're laughing, sitting up and jabbering on like your carrying on a conversation (you're definitely my child!)  Every time you smile, laugh or reach out for me it just melts my heart; if only I can see the world through your beautiful, blue eyes and see everything brand new. You've taught me what unconditional love means and how everything else just doesn't measure up as it used to.
After 9 long months and hours of tough labor, you finally entered the world and made me mom; with no makeup, hair all messy, my skin splotchy and red I didn't care what I looked like. To me, I was the most beautiful here, the moment you made me a mom.

You, by far are my greatest accomplishment in life.

I'll love you forever,
Mom

It was so nice, Nathan and I decided to take a long stroll in downtown Lexington to catch Pokémon. Yes, Pokémon. This game has brought us back to our childhood and we couldn't help, but join in on the fun.
This was the perfect outfit for Pokémon hunting  :)

Oh and yes, I dyed a portion of my hair purple. Living on the edge these days and wanted to try out something so out of normal style. I'm actually loving it!

Outfit Details
Striped Tee (J.Crew $29.50)
Distressed Boyfriend Jeans (Old Navy $24)

Bra-Blems

If you’ve been a reader of mine for a while then you know that I post mainly about my love of clothing, especially thrifted clothing and my take on creating looks based off what I find during my thrifting adventures.  Every day, before hunting through my closet for an outfit, I start with the most basic of basic garments. Come on ladies, you know exactly what I’m talking about, the dreaded bra! If you’re anything like me then you hate putting on a bra, you can’t wait to just get home and rip that sucker off! Unfortunately, many of us require that extra support to give us a great foundation for whatever else we decided to put on our bodies.
I think every woman out there struggles with some sort of “bra-blem” from time to time. Recently, I was introduced to a San Francisco based lingerie company, ThirdLove; who offers great fitting and supportive bras for all shapes and sizes. They help the everyday woman, like myself solve some of those pesky “bra-blems” we all tend to suffer from.

Here are some of the most common "bra-blems"we tend to suffer from and some quick fixes that may just make wearing a bra not so bad!

Putting on a bra sounds and should be easy right,  just the opposite! If you’re not aware of the correct way to put on then your doomed for the get go. These are some great tips to get you on the right track.

This, I think is one of the most common "bra-blems" out there. Either my straps continuously fall off my shoulders or they are extremely too tight to prevent them from slipping and its causes them to dig into my shoulders making it very uncomfortable.

I personally haven’t suffered from this “bra-blem”

Ever since gaining and then losing weight from my pregnancy, I’ve had some serious cup gaping. I will defiantly be trying out these quick fixes.
Another big “bra-blem” for this gal. I was blessed (or cursed) with bigger boobs for my body type/size and have always had quad-boob. You know what I’m talking about ladies’ that unsightly bluge over flowing from your bra that tends to show through any top you wear.
Whatever issues you are struggling with can all be resolved by just choosing the right bra. Remember, starting with great fitting under garments can make the entire look! And don’t get frustrated, finding the perfect bra is just like finding those dream jeans; their out there somewhere, I promise!
I highly suggest checking out ThirdLove if you’re in the market for a new bra, they were kind enough to offer a promo code to my readers for 15% off your entire purchase! (BRABLEMS)
I’d love to hear from you guys, did you end up purchasing and were all your “bra-blems” solved?

Kisses,
The Little Lady

Thrifted Thursday; Courtney Bib {Part 2}

Welcome back fellow thrifting friends!
I've had a this annoying cold and cough for the last month; over the weekend the cough just took over! I sound like I've smoked 3 packs a day for the last 10 years. (I don't smoke, by the way!) because of my constant hacking I didn't manage to snap any outfit pictures this week. So, I thought it would be nice to post how I styled my most recent jewelry obsession; the Courtney Bib in rose gold.
If you read my last "Thrifted Thursday" then you already know I scored this piece for CHEAP! I've been wearing it several times a week ever since; it will definitely be a jewelry staple of mine from now on.

With Staley in the photos, you really just forget all about the necklace, right! :) Any chance I get to show her off, I'm taking it. After all, she's my favorite accessory.

Hopefully, I can get this cough under control and get back to posting my thrifted finds. I've found some great pieces lately that I can't wait to show them off.

One more day to the weekend!

Kisses,
The Little Lady

Causal Dress

I recently discovered a newer brand, Allison Avery a few weeks ago through Jane. They were offering a 3 clothing item grab bag for only $10! I love purchasing grab bags on Jane, I usually receive things I would have never purchased on my own and end up loving them; just like this simple, navy dress. Its one of those dresses that's perfect for just throwing on and out the door you go (perfect to go with the bad hair day I was experiencing!). Which is exactly what I did on Saturday.
We spent the day running errands and had lunch and this keep me cool all day long! I paired it with a coral drop necklace and matching Keds, which some how I managed not snap a picture of. And of course, my favorite tote, that I also purchased from Jane.
This would even be great to transition into the cooler months paired with some leggings and boots!

I completely feel in love with this brand after receiving my grab bags. I ended up purchasing a couple items directly from their website. If you love trendy and versatile clothing for an amazing price point, I would highly recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed!
I plan on showing a couple other looks from my grab bag and direct purchase, so stay tuned!

Happy Monday Friends!

Thrifted Thursday; Courtney Bib

I recently "thrifted" this Baublebar Courtney Bib necklace for only $15 on EBay! Needless to say, I was super excited no one had snatched it up yet. I've been eyeing this necklace for so long, but could never commit to paying over $60 just for one necklace. After all, this girl has to stick to a budget!
I can't wait to style it with different outfits; I know I'm going to get plenty of wear out it, well worth the $15!
Also, shown is a couple of my recent jewelry finds that I've also been loving for the last few weeks.

Happy Thursday Friends!

Thrifted Thursday; Bright & Bold

Happy Thursday everyone!
I'm so glad it's almost the weekend, this has been such a long week. I think the sudden heat wave we've been having makes it feel so much longer. I know I'll be lounging in the pool all weekend long!

Today's look is this darling, bright yellow skirt I found at my local Goodwill. I thought it was too cute to pass up. My husband says it reminds him of something a teacher would wear because of the print. I'm gonna call this my European skirt.

I love being able to wear different things that I know most people won't wear. Any piece I can find that makes me feel comfortable and confident is always a winner!

Outfit Details:
Blank Tee (Old Navy $8)
European Skirt (Thrifted $4)
Flats (Payless $20)
Total: $32

Summer Fun

See as I now have a 4 month old, going to the beach this year was out of the question. I told my husband that we would have to have our own beach in our back yard, because I definitely started having withdraws. Especially, after I purchased this black floppy hat a couple weeks ago. My mom was on the hunt for a floppy hat for her Hawaii trip, and I think we found the perfect one. And of course, I had to get a matching one for myself.

So, this will be me all summer long; just lounging in my blow up pool with a drink in hand and the sun and sand in my mind.

Outfit Details:
Floppy Hat (J.Crew Factory $14)
Swim Suit (Old Navy $20)
Total: $34

Jaclyn Hill & Becca; Champagne Collection Face Palette

Did anyone else jump online the moment this collection was released? No, just me then?
I have been looking forward to the release of this collection from the moment Jaclyn hinted about it months ago. I've been a fan of Jaclyn's YouTube channel since she had only 4,000 subscribers, so basically since the beginning of time. LOL
I can't begin to say enough good things about her and how much I've learned since watching her channel. I honestly feel like I know her personally and I'm so happy and proud of the milestones she's hit through YouTube.
Ok, now that my fan girl moment is over, lets move on. Shall we?!

This beautiful palette comes with 3 new blushes in Amaretto (matte toasted almond), Pamplemousse (matte warm coral pink), a luminous Blush in Rosé Spritz (soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer) and 2 highlighters; Champagne Pop (soft white gold with pinky peach undertones) and finally the new Prosecco Pop (medium warm gold).
I think this palette is so gorgeous, everything from the packaging to the product inside is perfect and worth the $52 price point.
I found these swatches on Sephora's website. I love that they showcased the entire palette on 3 different skin tones verifying that this truly is a great palette for anyone to add to their collection.
As expected, this palette along with the new eye shadow palette sold out pretty quickly. But don't worry, you can still catch this collection in all Sephora stores on June 16th.
If you're as big of a makeup geek as me then you should enjoy this article where Jaclyn, herself answers some questions about the collection.

May your highlight be forever on fleek!

Mask of Magnaminty

Can you believe that its already the last day of May! This year is going by way too fast if you ask me.
Since the month of May is just about over, I wanted to share a product that I have been loving and using non stop for the last 2 months.

I've never really had problems with acne or break outs, but since giving birth to my first child in February, I have been struggling with dry, rough skin with a few breakouts. Its like my skin completely changed over night and my clear, texture free skin has traded for, at times, what feels like alligator skin! YIKES!! Before and during my pregnancy, I continued with my normal skin care routine; using masks, cleansers, toners and creams. Since then, I've had to switch things up and change out all my favorites and basically started from scratch to find something that would tame all the issues I suddenly started to have.
One product I am beyond thankful I can across was the Lush, Mask of Magnaminty. And yes, I know I am very late to the game with this one, but now this will definitely be a staple under my sink from now on.
The mask is not only for the face, but the back & body! This minty scented mask has China clay and fresh peppermint that reaches deep into the skin and sucks out any gunk in the pores, leaving the skin so refreshing with a tingly, clean sensation! My favorite part is washing the mask off, it then acts like a exfoliator due to the aduki beans to help even out texture, getting rid of any dead, dry, flaky skin. The website states "this is the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin", and that's exactly what it is!
I will probably explore more Lush products in the future. I love that everything is hand made, fresh with organic fruits and veggies and no products are ever tested on animals!

I definitely recommend this mask to anyone having some serious skin issues. It has really calmed my skin down and has now made its way into my heart forever! LOL

Kisses,
The Little Lady
