DIY Projects for the "Nesting" Momma

With the upcoming arrival of my bundle of joy, I'm doing what all new mothers tend to do during the last few months of their pregnancy, nest. Nesting is this overwhelming desire to organize/repair/tidy everything in your home in preparation for your new baby. Let me tell you, nesting is a real thing! I feel like I come up with a new "project" almost daily.

Some ideas I may come up with are completely unrealistic for the amount of time I have until I deliver, while others are more manageable. I've put together a short list of DIY projects that either I'm currently working on or have on my "to do" list before the big day arrives.

I'm ordering these picture ledges from Ikea to make this book wall.

We are decorating her room in a classic Alice in Wonderland theme. We already have the vintage dresser, mirrors/frames and keys to add those last minute touches.
I hate Alice in Wonderland, but love all the touches.:

This is one project currently in the works, curtains are currently up in her room.
AHH!!!!! this WILL be how my daughters room looks like. Because she is going to be the princess in the house.:

M.I.A

Hello again blogging world! I know it's been a while! I have been completely MIA for the last two months! Times sure does fly by, I had no idea it had been that long! Hopefully, I can just jump back into the swing of things as before!

Where have I been you might ask? Well, a lot of things have happened in the last two months! The number one life changer is my ever growing baby bump! Yes, that's right, I'm pregnant! 5 1/2 months pregnant to be exact! My husband and I are extremely over joyed about our perfect little princess that's due on Valentine’s Day! As you can imagine, ever since finding out this great news, we have been running around like crazy people trying to get our house in order. When we moved into our house last December, one of the bedrooms was used for storage (or what I like to call "the land where time stands still!") where all unwanted, unused items go to die of a slow, smothering death from the evil dusty bunnies! LOL!

Time has really gotten away from us, and now it feels like we don’t have enough time left to prepare the way I’d like to anyway! In reality, we have about 4 months to get everything in line, and that’s perfectly enough time for the average Joe, but me, I’m so over the top with things and want everything to be perfect that I usually take on more than what we can tend to handle. Good thing is I have a husband who is very calm and level headed and always brings by sky high ideas, down to a more manageable goal.

Being the planner that I am, I have found some printable check lists to better help us prepare for what’s coming. I’ve linked a couple of my favorites down below in case you like to plan and prepare like I do.

I love this blank check list. This is perfect to jot down all those house hold/baby essentials that you will need to stock up on.

This being my first child, I really didn't know what to register for, this is a great beginner list of baby must haves!

And to be honest, who doesn't need a good cleaning check list. I don't stick to this exactly, but its a great base to get started on a schedule.

I plan on having some pregnancy, baby related posts coming soon! I promise, not to stay away as long as I did before.

FRiYAY is finally here! I don't know about you, but I have been counting down the days. Mainly because this week I'm co-hosting one of my favorite weekly link ups, Favorite Fashion Friday with Tara from Penniless Socialite. I'm beyond excited to be apart of this weeks link up and meet new blogging buddies!

floral print dress, Converse, chambray shirt

My favorite look by far from the past week was Debbie from Fashion Fairy Dust. This look just calls out to me; from the floral, fitted dress all the way to those sneakers. Not to mention the cutie sneaking in her pictures. (I constantly have pups sneaking in photo shoots too!)  Talk about a lady with not only great style, but spunky personality; I laughed so many times reading some of her posts. I love that she is giving a voice to the fashion/blogging world regardless of age.
YOU GO GIRL!!

Rocking like a "Rolling Stone"

Sorry, I kinda left the blogging world for the past week. Sometimes, life takes over and you forget where you left off. Well, I wanted to take a step back and share my adventure on July 4th. Nathan and I were lucky enough to see The Rolling Stones live in concert at the Indianapolis Motor Speed Way. Talk about luck, I won the tickets off a local radio station! This truly was one of those bucket list shows, I can't think of the last show I went to that I enjoyed more! I didn't get to snap a lot of pictures (I was too busy dancing and singing along!) So I'm showing off a few pictures/video from a local Indianapolis news website.

June Favorites

I said it Monday, and I'm gonna say it again. I can't believe that its already July. This year is going by way to fast and I'm sure these next few months are only going to past by just as quickly!
Anyway, I've rounded up some of my favorites for the month of June to share with everyone!

Tassel everything-- If you read my previous post about completely obsessing over tassels, then you already knew they would be mentioned in my favorites.
Caitlyn Jenner-- Where ever you stand on the Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner issue, you should still be reading the article featured in Vanity Fair. I think its very refreshing for anyone to speak so openly about their struggles, whether that be gender issues or any eating disorder. Being so brave allows for others to speak up.
Bite Beauty Lip Mask--I reviewed this product when I first started blogging and its been a favorite ever since. The last few weeks, my lips have been so dry, so I've been heavily applying this at night before I go to bed and its worked wonders; I wake up with soft and moisturized lips!
E.L.F Stippling brush- I received this brush in the latest Walmart Beauty Box and I'm so glad I did. Its perfect for adding a slight highlight to my face and the best part its only $3 for anyone else who wants to grab one!!
White/Gold Home Decor-- I recently popped into Hobby Lobby and they had a huge 80% off sale on some home decor. I stocked my cart full of gold/white home accessories perfect, I think for adding a nice chic touch!

That's all my loves for the month. What have you guys been loving?

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday Ya'll!! Did everyone have a fabulous weekend? It was a perfect weekend for a wedding and moving; and our weekend was consumed with both. We traveled back
east for a family wedding, where my mom ventured into wedding photography for the first time. Then Sunday we moved my brother and (future) sister in-law out of their apartment.
Can we just stop for a minute and say where has this year gone? Wednesday is July 1st, WOW!!
Completely forgot about snapping a few outfit pictures from my wedding look, but I thought I'd share the few snaps I did manage to take. I loved the navy and peach combo I wore.

Denim Jacket

A denim jacket is probably one of my favorite things to wear. You can literally pair one with just about anything, the best timeless piece anyone can own. My favorite way to pair a denim jacket is with a dress. This strapless number is so comfy, but not appropriate for work on its own. Adding a denim jacket and leggings makes it a perfect, causal Friday look.
Everything I'm wearing is a oldie, but still a goody. I've linked some of my favorite alternatives below.

Happy Friday Ya'll!

Summer Lovin'

Decor4all
This is the first summer since we moved into our new home and as of right now, I'm using an old beach chair as my current patio furniture {LOL}. Not a necessity when we first moved in, but now I'm dying for a patio makeover since summer is now in full swing. I would love to do something with bright colors and lots of texture to give the area some much needed life.
I've linked my idea board from Pinterest so you can see what ideas I'm bouncing around. If you guys have any ideas or tricks for patio decoration, I'd love to hear them.

This week WWD release a sneak peak of the 2016 Resort Collection from the fabulous Lilly Pulitzer. This collection is giving me life; I mean, just look at these colorful prints! What else would you expect from Miss, Lilly? Sadly, I don't get a vacation this year, but next year, I'll make a point to head to the beach wearing several of these pieces; perfect sun and sand attire!

Oh and happy Friday ya'll! I don't know about you, but this week has been rough. Looking forward to the weekend!

Summer Shades

I'm a girl who can't walk out the door without my lipstick on (true girly girl!). I'm a firm believer that lipstick is the perfect accessory to amp up any look or give you that much needed pop of color.  And this time of the year is perfect for all those bold, bright and loud shades most people shy away from, but not me! I love a everything from a bright, hot pink lip to the classic red.  I was looking through my collection of lipsticks and these six jumped out and instantly make me think summer! Every one of them are fresh looking on the lips and could make anyone wanna kiss you! {Hehehe}

Currently Obsessing....

Lately, I have been completely obsessed with tassels! I accessorize almost daily with piece of jewelry, scarf or handbag, well anything that has a tassel on it.  (Really, I'm clearly obsessed!)  I can't get enough of this fun, bright and flirty style this trend adds to my look. I'm finding there are tons of options perfect for my casual daily look and even styles that offer spunk to a dressy look.
I've link some of my favorites down below!

More Stripes Please

Happy Monday Ya'll!
This Saturday was a day for the records books! Not only did American Pharoah break the 37 year drought and snag the coveted triple crown, but Nathan and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our anniversary was earlier in the week, but we were finally able to celebrate this weekend. I was treated to a lovely dinner at Malone's. I probably ate my weight in sushi!
This was my dinner look. I paired a striped peplum with this gorgeous, textured midi that I have been dying to wear from Bluetique
