Top 10 Drug Store Beauty Products

Lately, there have been tons of amazing beauty products at the drug store. There's no need to spend hundreds of dollars on makeup when brands are coming out with great color selections and on point pigmentation. It's enough to make any beauty queen squeal with excitement!

Here are my top picks for drug store beauty products!

  1. L'Oreal voluminous Carbon Black Mascara- Great everyday mascara, it not only lengthens my lashes, but adds great volume. I've used this for years!
  2. Elf Lip Exfoliator- This is part of my nightly routine, I go in with the lip scrub and then generously apply and moisturizing chap stick. I love it because it's convent to use and gets all the dead skin off my lips. Plus it's $3, can't go wrong with that.
  3. L'Oreal Infallible Eye shadows- These are perfect for the girl on the go, pressed pigments that offer great pigmentation and are super buttery to work with. They come in wide range of colors.
  4. Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation- This foundation is perfect for the oily monkey I tend to be! Super matte formula that goes on super thick. I always stay very matte throughout the day when I wear this and the finish sets really nice on my skin. This is very budget friendly as well! Best $5 foundation ever!
  5. Maybelline Lipsticks- These are amazing! I have too many colors to count. Pigmentation is amazing and for the price you can't get anything better. They have several didn't finishes to suit everyone's needs/wants. I'm currently loving the matte formula.
  6. Makeup Geek Eye Shadows- As a MAC lover, I was thrilled to find high quality eye shadows at a drug store price. They have so many shades and the new foiled line is THE BOMB!!!! They don't offer this brand in a drug store setting, but I would visit their website, high quality items at a great price point.
  7. Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer- This is a great concealer from the drug store. Covers any dark circles and is great for high lighting your under eye area. This also doesn't crease on me or settle in any fine lines when I set it with a powder, which is a major plus!
  8. NYC Eyeliner- Hands down, best liquid liner I have ever used. Easy to work with and super black! I've tried other liners and nothing compares to this!
  9. Morphee Eye shadows- I can't say enough good things about this brand. Price is amazing, just $2 for a single eye shadow! Pigmentation is wonderful and they are so easy to blend!!. These have replaced my MAC collection, I grab these just about daily. These are also not offered in the drug store, but I HIGHLY suggest checking out their website.
  10. LOreal True Match- Between my Rimmel Stay Matte and Loreal True Match, I hardly ever wear a high end foundation anymore. True match has the largest selection of colors that any drug store foundation offers. The color matches me perfect and stays on all day long. I love the original True Match and the Lumi version as well.
What are some of your favorite drug store beauty finds?

Beauty Box 5 Review- May

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly beauty subscription box. It's one of the cheapest  boxes you can get monthly! This is my first box I've ever received from this company!

What you need to know

The cost: $12/month (or $10/month for a 3 month membership; $8.25/month for a year membership)

The contents: Each beauty box contains 4-5 deluxe size and some full sized samples! Each box also comes with a product card describing each item and listing the retail values.

This months box contained:
CATTIVA precision Eye Liner (Full size) $20
I like that it's a retractable pencil and it's waterproof, but I've never heard of the brand before so I'm excited to try it out! This product has already paid for the membership of the box!

H2O Plus Spa Hand & Nail Cream (30 ml) $2
I've never heard of this brand before, so I don't really have an option, but it feels really great on the skin. So I like it so far and I love any product dealing with nail care!

Harvey Prince Hello (2ml) $2
I'm not the biggest fan of perfume samples, but this actually smells good. Great fresh, citrus scent for spring!

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion (1 oz) $1
This is a fragrance free lotion built to improve the health of skin. Not super excited about this, but I'll keep this in my purse as a travel lotion.

Ban Total Refresh Cooling Body Cloths  (3 Cloths) $1

Never used anything like this before, so I'm interested in trying this! I think they would be great after the gym or just to freshen up.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with my first Beauty Box 5. I did get my first box free because I used a coupon code, so I'm excited to see what next month box looks like compared to monthly subscription price.

If you get this box or any other beauty boxes you think I'd like please comment below!

April Beauty Favorites!

I've been loving so many great products this past month I just had to share them with you guys! If you've tried any of these products I would love to know what you thought and if they worked for you!

L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Line ($20-$25 each)
I can't say enough good things about this whole line. I started using the Pore Vanisher first and I have noticed my pores have gotten smaller (I've been using this for about 2 months). It's very similar to Benefits Porefessional, in color and feel. You apply the Pore Vanisher under your foundation to act as a primer. Then I fell in love with the serum and the night cream- I use these mainly at night, even though the cream is day or night; I probably will never use anything else again. First off they have a a pink hue to them (how cute is that!! I know, I'm ridiculous!) you apply the serum first, then go in with the night cream. They work wonders together; for a drugstore skincare line they are super luxurious feeling, thick and creamy and I have really noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my skin since using these products. I highly recommend these if your dealing with some texture, pore or line issues! Start taking care of your skin at a young age ladies and no one will ever know your real age!

Real Technics Beauty Blender($6)
Don't wanna pay $20 for the original Beauty Blender? Get this bad boy! It's only $6!!! It's does the same thing as a B.B. but for a fraction of the cost. I love a B.B. for the spring/summer because it sheers out my foundations making it feel weightless, it also give a very natural appearance to your makeup. For makeup beginners, this is also so super easy to apply liquids! You don't have to worry about streaks or not blending anything out!

MAC lipstick in "Cream Cup"($15)
I have never been into nude lipsticks, but this is a stunning pinky nude. I've been reaching for it a lot over the last month; it goes with any look, a smoky eye, natural makeup. This lipstick is a creamsheen formula, so it is not drying on the lips! My favorite formula from MAC. This would compliment so many skin tones.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Opal"($38)
OMG! This is perfection, the prettiest highlight shade I own. I just can't get enough of it. It's a golden highlight so it gives a great dewy glow to the cheekbones, but very light handed with it. A little goes a long way! You don't wanna go around looking like a disco ball (or if you do, than do your thang!) this is also a great dupe for MACs "Whisper of Gilt" which is limited addition.

Milani baked blush in "Luminoso"($8)
There is absolutely no reason why no one should not own this blush! It's only $8 and it's amazing! If you know anything about Milani products than you know they are raved about for their blushes and this one is always mentioned first. Go out, get it now and then you know what I'm talking about. Its a beautiful peachy, coral shade with little flicks of gold running through it, so it will really give a great glow to the cheeks! It will suit a variety of skin tones.  Perfect for spring and summer!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask($26)
If you read my last blog post, then you knew I had to shout this guy out. I'm still loving this luxurious lip treatment. I've never dealt with chapped lips before, but when I wear matte lipsticks, it would cause my lipsticks to sort of crack throughout the day. Since I have been applying this nightly, I have not had that problem. If you are familiar with the retro matte formals from MAC then you know exactly what I'm talking about! Now, I don't even worry with reapplying any lip balm through the day!

Again, I'd love to know of you've tried out any of my April favorites.

Bite Beauty- Agave Lip Mask Review

Everybody and their mother has been talking about this lip mask recently, I've seen all over YouTube, read several blogs where it's mentioned and raved about, but I just couldn't bring myself to purchase this $26 lip product! I'm a sucker for any lip balm that supposed to improve the quality of your lips, prevent chapping or cracking. Well, I finally caved, I watched my last YouTuber rave about it for last time! I just had to find out what all the fuss was about!

I think the "lip mask" name gives off the wrong impression about this product, I instantly thought to apply, leave it on for a few minutes then wipe off, but this is more of a intense lip treatment; its a luxurious creamy, thick balm that you leave on and it sinks into your lips leaving them so moisturized and so hydrated!
The back of the box states "instantly soothe and soften lips with this delicious leave-on lip mask made with organic agave and vanilla co2 extract."

What it is:
A soothing, leave-on lip mask that replenishes moisture in the lips

What it does:
This innovative, natural formal smooths, nourishes, and moisturizes lips with a bio-active blend of organic agave nectar, jojoba oil, vanilla CO2 extract and triple the amount of antioxidant trans-resveratrol found in red wine.

What else you need to know:
This product does not contain gluten or petroleum.

*Sephora's website currently rates this product as a 4.4 out of 5.

I've been putting this on at night before I go to bed and I wake up and my lips are still  hydrated and slightly fuller (I don't think this product has any plumping capabilities, but my lips fill fuller!) I've been wearing this nightly for about 5 days now and I've noticed the little lines in my lips are starting to fade and my lipstick is going on much smoother & staying on longer! What I love most about this is that its not greasy feeling like most lip balms, its very think and luxurious feeling on the lips; and in my option it should be for $26! I'm really enjoying this lip mask and I recommend this to anyone with dry or chapped lips. This is not like any other lip balm product on the market.

If you try out the lip mask, I'd love to know how it worked out for you and your thoughts!

The Little Lady

First off, I want to say that I'm very nervous to be starting a blog, but anxious! I've wanted to do this for quite some time, so here I am now taking the plunge into the blogging world! I hope you enjoy.

My name is Kayla, a.k.a "The Little Lady". My husband has called me this from the day we meet, so naturally why not entitle my blog this. It fits me perfectly; being that I'm only 4'10 and I consider myself to be a lady. :)
If you'd like to know a little bit more about me, please visit my "About Me" section.

Why am I starting to blog you might ask? Well, I need a challenge, something new and exciting in my life and I thought this would be the perfect way to get my brain ticking. I'm a heavy blog reader myself; reading things that interest me and one day just thought to myself "why can't I do this?" So I'll be blogging about what's important to me, family. What I love, fashion and beauty and what I think everything needs to know a thing or two about, DIY's and couponing.

I hope to inspire many throughout my blogging journey! Feel free to stop by and introduce yourself! I'd love to get to know you and hear what you think.
